Dear Mama –
Just a few lines to let you know that I am feeling fine and I hope you are the same. Mama, I haven’t written for a few days as I have been about sick with a cold. I feel pretty good now but for a few days I didn’t feel like doing anything. We are really having some cold weather but I don’t seem to feel it so much. Well, a few men are getting out each week so maybe I will be home sometime in November. The fellow I run around with, from Vermont, is leaving for home and I kind of hate to seen him leave. I got two letters from you today and I am glad to hear you are better. Mama dont do any work and when I get home we will make some other arrangements.
I like the work here, issuing clothes, but I want to get back home and go to work. It makes me feel good to hear that Ola and Rich are getting along so well. Tell Ola that I will probably send a package by express to her house and for her to keep it until I get home. If I don’t get a call in the next few days I will probably take a three day pass and go up to Los Angeles. I went to a cavalry revue Saturday and those horses marching was one of the prettiest sights I have ever seen. Mom, there isn’t much news so I will close for now, so,
Goodnight
Lots & lots of love & kisses
Bill
