Dear Mama –
Mama, I hope this finds you feeling fine as I am doing O.K. Well, I still haven’t heard from you but I guess my mail is all messed up. I am no longer in the 3457 ORD. and am one step nearer to being out of the army. I have a bad knee, shoulder and eye and I am pretty sure of getting a discharge. Nearly all of this company I am in now is just waiting around to get out. My old outfit is leaving Tuesday for Ft. Lewis, Washington and it makes me kind of

blue not to be going with them. Some of our outfit has already been discharged an there is seven of us down here together waiting to see what happens. My new address is S.C.U. 1961, CAMP LOCKETT, CALIF. I haven’t done much the last few days but lay around and get different examinations and X rays. There is a big stage show here tonight so when I finish this I will probably walk over. Well, there isn’t any new so I will close for now.
Goodnight
Lots & lots of love & kisses
Bill
