Nov. 29-1943

Dear Mama –

Just a few lines to let you know that I am feeling fine and I hope this finds you feeling well. Mom, I can’t write much tonight as I am kind of excited and I guess you know the reason why. Today my buddy and I were called in and told to be ready to leave by Thursday. Of course I will be ready although it is going to keep me pretty busy for the next two days. After you receive this letter don’t write me any more. Tell Ola to be on the lookout for a wire about Sunday or Monday because I am going to wire when I leave Los Angeles. About the only way I can be sure of getting a seat into New

Orleans is by catching the train up there. To top it although, two of us have to work K.P. tomorrow but I could do that standing on my heard just to get out. I know the train ride will be tiresome and I guess it will take me four or five days to get home. Well, Mom I will close now and start getting my things together.

Goodnight
Lots & lots of love & kisses
Bill
