Battleship USS Alabama

This OS2U "Kingfisher" seaplane is the only assembled one on display in the United States. During World War II three of these planes were assigned to the Alabama for scouting and observation missions. This plane, a gift from the Mexican Navy, was restored by Brookley AFB mechanics during their off-duty hours.

Fairhope, Alabama, is located on Mobile Bay and was founded in 1895 being the first Single Tax Colony in the world. The beach has a two mile water front with an 1800 foot Municipal Pier, beach, picnis grounds, boating, bathing and fishing. Located in town are ten churches and over twenty-five civic organizations. The beach has a dance pavilion and outdoor theater.
